Not only did I get to witness my very talented friend, Alethea of Petals & Pastels get married, but it was also the first time where I got to see my dresses walk down the aisle! It was a pretty special moment and I loved every minute of it! Alethea had seven beautiful bridesmaids who all wore the Leighton skirt in Blue Harbor paired with their own white sweaters. January in Texas can be a little unpredictable with the weather and we were definitely nervous because there was rain in the forecast. However, nothing was keeping this gorgeous wedding from happening. The sky cleared and the ground dried and she had the most unbelievable outdoor ceremony at Flying V Ranch. Check out her gorgeous wedding details below!

From the moment you get engaged, it’s all parties, dinners, brunches, soirees, and showing off the ring. So, we’ve put together some outfit ideas and tips to help you plan ahead for these great events leading up to the most important of them all.
The engagement party is all about sharing the news with your loved ones, and though they’re going to be asking to see the ring foremost, as a bride-to-be, you want to start owning the spotlight.
The Ainsley skirt in Gold Sequin
Pair a sparkly midi skirt with a simple, solid color top to add some balance to your overall look. Accessorize it with some neutral colors and don’t forget a manicure to show that ring off!
The Vienna Skirt in Off-white paired with the Serena top in Blush
Or go for a romantic, daytime chic look in a lace mermaid skirt or a pencil skirt. Show it off with an off-the-shoulder top, and get ready to talk all about the proposal!
The Bachelorette Party
For your bachelorette party, you want to have fun and feel confident and sexy before it’s time to tie the knot. So, allow yourself to stand out and have fun with your look!
The Joelle skirt in Rose Gold Sequin
Pair a chic and fun skirt with a solid top you can tuck inside the skirt, and show a little skin on your shoulders. If you plan to have a nighttime Bachelorette party, pair the skirt with a darker and fitted top; like a long sleeve black crop top. Accent it with some nude stilettos and pearl accessories.
The Sloane Dress in Charcoal Sequin
Or dazzle the night in an all sequin short dress! A shorter length will make it easier for dancing and move around if a night out is in your plans.
The Bridal Shower
For the bridal shower, a smaller and family oriented affair, you may want to portray a more classic and romantic look. Take your millennial pink and flowy pieces out, and create a soft and dainty look. Make your soon-to-be bridal glow and gleam!
The Keaton Midi skirt in English Rose and the Evie top in Black
For this occasion, we pulled out a pink flowy midi skirt paired with a soft chiffon v-neck top. Wear it with a fun stiletto heel and your favorite gold accessories.
The Seraphina dress in Rose Quartz
Not feeling like putting two separate pieces together? Just slip into your prettiest ruffle dress, and take everyone’s breath away!
The rehearsal dinner is the build-up moment for your Big Day. Traditionally, the bride wears all white for this dinner event, as she is, of course, the bride. Yet, it’s also your opportunity to wear separate pieces, short dresses, fitted silhouettes and little hints of color!
The Zenia top in Off-white paired with the Leighton maxi skirt in Ivory
Steal the night in an all-white pre-bridal look with a long white skirt and a lace top. And if you want to take away the seriousness of the look, add colorful shoes and fun accessories that show your own personality.
The Evie top in Off-white paired with the Audriana midi skirt in Off-white
Or leave the dreamy tulle for the big day go for a midi length skirt and a light v-neck chiffon top in white.
The post-wedding brunch is all about finally relaxing! All that hard work and planning leading up to the big day has paid off, now it’s time to sit back, relax and reminisce about everything that went down during the wedding day.
The Serena top in Platinum
Lay back in an off-the-shoulder breezy shirt and a solid flirty, skater skirt. Add a touch of blush to your accessories, shoes or lips.
The Keaton Short Skirt in English Rose paired with the Anisten Reversible top in Off-white
Or throw in a flowy knee skirt with a flowy chiffon top and call it a day! Pair it with some flats or comfortable wedges and you’ll look relaxed but also poised and put together.
Once you’re engaged and planning your wedding, everything tends to go extremely fast, and it could become a bit overwhelming. By planning out your outfits and having all of your pieces together, you can save yourself a lot of unnecessary stress and be on time for all of your affairs.

It’s Mother’s Day and I’ve been waiting a few months to write this post. I was surfing Poshmark one night and came across some Vintage bridesmaid dresses that my mom had designed. How cool is it that her designs are still selling after 20+ years? I decided I wanted to write a blog post as an ode to my mom on Mother’s Day. This is perfect timing to reflect on my experience being raised by a designer mother since Love Tanya’s one year anniversary is coming up.
I remember when I was just 7 years old, my mom would be draping dresses in the garage with her sewer, Rita. They would often work late into the night since that is when she was most creative. I loved seeing how her designs would turn out from start to finish. I really enjoyed watching the burst of excitement when she would think of a new idea. She actually had a little happy dance – lol.Fast forward to today and it’s amazing to see how her designs forever changed the bridesmaid industry. Everyone else was still making big, poufy sleeves and taffeta dresses, but she was the first to introduce Dupioni silk and two-piece dresses. In case you missed it, two-piece dresses have been making a big come back recently! As a kid, I loved watching her select new trims like fabric flower pins, pearl buttons, and embellished straps. I feel like could actually see her wheels spinning in her head as she began the creative process.I was also lucky enough to go to her photoshoots in exotic places (and miss school for it!). My favorite one was in Mirabella, Spain at a gorgeous Spanish castle. Afterward, we went to eat the most delicious paella I’ve ever had. When we got home to Dallas, I would look forward to sitting in her design room with the lights out, selecting the best pictures for her catalog. Back then there were no digital cameras so we had to select from picture negatives that were made into slides. I would help her put the slides into the carousel because I couldn’t wait to see the images!
It’s because of her perseverance and determination that she became an overnight success which enabled me to have an excellent education. When we first came to Dallas, we lived in a low-income apartment complex, but by the mid-90s I was able to attend a local private school. I feel blessed on this Mother’s Day and hope that I am making her proud. May we all remember our mother’s selflessness and sacrifices to provide a good life for us. – love, tanya
Your bachelorette party has the potential to be the best party you've ever been to, especially when you're planning it in Dallas. There are so many different options to consider adding to your itinerary. The best part is completely customizing your itinerary to your specific interests...it pretty much guarantees that the night will be memorable for all of the right reasons. Here are four popular Dallas bachelorette party destinations to consider checking out along the way!
5202 W Lovers Lane, Dallas, TX
Sipping on wine and painting with friends is a great idea for the laid back bachelorette group. If you're not artistically gifted, don't worry, as the instructor guides you through each step. If you want to have a private party here, you'll need anywhere from 8 to 12 people and a credit card to make your reservation. You'll get to choose your painting if you decide to go this route.
311 N Market St, Dallas, TX
This is a new spot in the West End Historic District. It has an inviting vintage atmosphere, and they have rooms available for those who want to host a party here. The fresh ingredients shine through in both the food and cocktail choices at this establishment. Plus, the downtown location makes it a perfect stop in your bar hopping!
4372 Spring Valley Rd, Farmers Branch, TX
This immersive escape room experience is perfect for bachelorette parties. There are different themes to choose from like the Heist, Pathogen, Epicurean, and Society. There are varying difficulty levels in each option, so you can customize how much of a challenge it is. The staff is very accommodating for parties as well.
2924 Main St, Dallas, TX
A lot of fun can be had here at the Dallas School of Burlesque, especially for a group of adventurous ladies! They offer burlesque parties and pole dance parties that includes two hours of time with a talented instructor, and both are under $500. All skill levels are welcome here, so don't be shy.
Remember, if you plan on drinking, you'll have to organize a method of safe transportation. There's a better option than ordering a new ride share service every time you want to go to a new destination, and that's reserving luxury transportation like a party bus or limousine. These types of vehicles offer more room and features than a standard sedan. Plus, chauffeurs are familiar with bachelorette parties, and they can offer up more suggestions if you're drawing a blank. For more information, check out these Dallas Event Ideas!
Today it is no longer uncommon to add some color to your wedding dress; in fact, a lot of designers are showcasing the most beautiful bridal gowns in a variety of colors. And if you’re an unconventional bride, who is not afraid of breaking the rules, go ahead and keep reading!
The #BlissfullyBlueBride is a look we styled to showcase the beauty of color, specifically, dusty blue and soft lilac. It’s one way out of many, on how to represent your personality, innovation, and creativity.
The foundation of an atypical bride is her gown, and an all-white dress is not going to cut it. As a rule-breaker bride, allow yourself to mix & match textures and colors that go along your theme and pulls away from your traditional wedding dress…
Play with the colors of your flower bouquet by adding hints of blue, lavender and lilac to an off-white color flower base, by adorning it with Blue Delphiniums, Corn Flowers, and Hydrangeas. Keep it subtle and soft, you don’t want your bouquet to be too overpowering.
Enhance the light blue tones with a daytime event at a romantic and bright venue. Sheer sunlight will bring all the colors together and will complement the blue hues.
Don’t forget your best accessory,…
A blue ink love letter from your love awaiting,…
And rejoice in the most anticipated moment.

The recent photoshoot with Luisa’s Secret has been one of my favorite ones to date! Not only was I able to see my vision come to life, but I was lucky enough to experience the endless, upbeat energy between Luisa and Douglas that inspired the models to take such beautiful photos. There are so many amazing things that came together to make this shoot happen!!
For one, working with Luisa and Douglas was a dream! I had been Instagram stalking them for awhile and decided to reach out to them randomly. I was so excited when they said yes! They are so captivating to watch while they work. They each have their own camera and they move around individually, yet together as if in an unspoken choreographed dance. They are both beautiful people, inside and out, just building their dream career and helping lift up people like me in the process. Oh! And they brought their own glitter!!
The models are actually fellow Alpha Xi Delta sisters from Texas Tech. While in college, I was reluctant to rush a sorority, but I went through the process because I believe in trying everything at least once. Little did I know that I would be making a lifelong relationship with thousands and thousands of AXiDs across the nation! It is so fun having my sorority sisters be a part of this journey and I love hearing them daydream over their “real wedding” one day.
The day before this shoot, I was attending the Swoon Event at Jefferson Tower. My booth was next to Katie Bug Florals who designs absolutely stunning arrangements. She was headed out of town and was going to throw out her flowers from the show. Oh, the tragedy! I asked if I could take them for my photoshoot, and she said yes! I love when things just come together naturally.
Finally, the story behind the venue. When I started planning my first photo shoot a year ago, I had no clue where to go. So I reached out to my high school alumni office to see if I could use their studio space (I went to an artsy school). They referred me to some fellow high school alumnae that are Dallas photographers and have a studio for rent. That’s why you’ll often see me shooting at the Lumen Room.
So many personal connections made this shoot happen and I am overjoyed with the outcome. It’s amazing that I can grow my own business while still supporting the local community. I hope you’ve enjoyed learning more about my favorite shoot! Be sure to check out all of the vendors that made it possible.
You may be asking yourself, what's a "try on party"? Well it's a fun way to shop for bridesmaid dresses with your girlfriends without ever leaving your house! A try on party is the perfect way to get your hands on the dresses you see on our site and try them on in real life!
Try on samples at home with our no risk, home try-on program so you always get your perfect size and style. Invite your bridesmaids-to-be over and treat it like a special day. You'll get to twirl around in pretty dresses, touch all the fabrics and decide what color looks best on everyone.
We had so much fun at our try-on party - everyone loved the idea of having the store come to us, rather than us driving from store to store! I first came across your website by googling "how to shop for bridesmaid dresses." In all honesty, I had no idea how all of us were going to go to a store and each find something that they were comfortable in, that looked good on each of them, and also had the mis-matched cohesive look that I was going for.
The online stores are better, but they all had hundreds of dresses to choose from that became exhausting, and not one of them allows you try-on the dresses before buying. Then I found lovetanya.com!
The dresses are gorgeous and we could order sample dresses to try at home (which come with color swatches!). Your site has enough dresses to choose from, but not so many that it's overwhelming. Everyone had the freedom to pick their own style that they're comfortable in. Oh, and the ease of being able to mix and match multiple styles and fabric that still gave a cohesive look!
With your one-of-a-kind business model and amazing customer service (thank you for taking all our calls regarding sizing, fabric, colors and what would look good on my body type questions!), you actually took an overwhelming task of dress shopping with 6 girls and made it fun!
We started the day with a mimosa and our very own bloody Mary bar, then got down to business! The girls are still talking about how much fun it was! - Lindsay, Getting Married 7/21/18

As Valentine’s Day approaches, I want to share how I met my longtime boyfriend because it actually has something to do with my sequin dresses! As usual, there are two sides to every story and I’m excited to share both.
I had just broken up with a boyfriend and wasn’t really looking to date anyone, but I agreed to go with a guy friend to our mutual friend’s wedding at the Dallas Museum of Art. I had just designed my first collection and I was excited to show it off! I wore one of my sequin dresses to the wedding since it was Black Tie not realizing that might catch my future love’s eye. I knew the Bride from high school so I spent most of the evening catching up with old friends and dancing my butt off to the jazz band. I just love a good wedding band! At the end of the night, after sending off the newlyweds, a guy came up to me and asked me to clear something up for him. He had been getting conflicting information about whether or not I had a boyfriend. I said no, to which he replied, “my people will get in touch with your people.”
I forgot that our friend Kelly was getting married that day. It wasn’t until I saw someone post about the wedding on Facebook just hours before it was going to start that I remembered. I quickly got ready, slipped into a suit and made my way to the DMA. As I was making my way back to my table from the buffet, I caught the eye of a beautiful girl in a gold sequin dress. Although she’ll deny it, I swear she was looking me up and down as she walked by!! She immediately stood out and I just had to know her story. I asked everyone at my table who was the girl in the gold dress? I wasn’t sure if the guy next to her was her boyfriend; some said yes and others said no. I knew what I had to do – get just tipsy enough to work up the nerve to talk to her! Her date stepped away during the couple’s sendoff and I found my opening. We had our first date about a month after the wedding.

Brides, take note - let your bridesmaids shine in sequins because she may just find the one! Plus, they can definitely wear it again like I did to my friend’s formal wedding. Check out these gorgeous photos of these sequin dresses from a recent shoot with Luisa's Secret.
